The VII ESI Riding Horse Auction in Klein Roscharden ended with sensational results. A duel between two bidders for Buenos Aires, a five-year old, chestnut Oldenburg gelding by Balou du Rouet out of the mare family that produced the stallion Converter, only ended at the 75,000 Euros mark. The duel was won by a new customer from the US but the other bidder from Columbia didn't leave the auction empty handed. He purchased the Acord II-Grannus daughter Alicante who has already placed in show jumping classes up to medium (M*) level.  Two other jumpers also topped the 60,000 Euros mark and these two will continue to eat their oats in Germany: the seven-year old, bay mare All I need (by Armitage-Ramino) went for 65,000 Euros and the licensed, six-year old, gray stallion Cortador (by Corrado I-Acord II) sold for 60,000 Euros.

Total sales at the eighth edition of the ESI Sport Horse Auction added up to 652,000 Euros. The average price of the 23 knocked-down horses was 28,347 Euros which means  a new record in the ESI Auction statistics – so far the benchmark was set at 24,844 Euros. "We might not have had a real spectacular price but we did have an extremely strong middle field. Our concept to offer a small but  absolutely exquisite collection has clearly paid off" said Henrik Klatte afterward, visibly delighted. "But not only that, our world-wide network of customer advertising and support bears more fruit each year, especially since pleased customers that have purchased horses from us before are the best advertisement we could possibly have for our auction," added Henrik Klatte's partner, Otto Vaske. The great number of sales to new customers and to countries abroad – three were sold to the US and two each to Brazil and Italy as well as one each to Belgium, Bulgaria, Ireland, Columbia and Spain, is also at a record high.

For the first time, a special show presenting the auction candidates on a short course had been held in advance of the auction which interested parties could also watch live on the Internet. At the auction itself, the horses were shown without a saddle in hand.

"The marvelous result of our riding horse auction is certainly a good omen for our upcoming foal auction, the VI ESI Foal Auction, which will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 in Klein Roscharden" announced Henrik Klatte at the end of the riding horse auction.
